Lost Worlds Brewing

Overview

Lost Worlds Brewing was founded to create a basecamp for like-minded adventure-seekers. Throughout history, the discoveries that shaped our world have become the inspiration for the beers of Lost Worlds.

The 95-seat tap room and 150-seat biergarten is festooned with curios and artifacts from distant civilizations, and evokes the golden age of exploration. From the taproom, peer directly into the 10BBL brewing system where there is always something new being crafted. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the North Carolina weather, have a bite to eat, and listen to music (and bring your doggo because it’s pet-friendly).

Napkin Sketches

All identities begin as doodles on a napkin over drinks, quite literally 🍺😉. We wanted to communicate the turn of the century vibe and early exploration with the design, so the initial sketches included concepts of mountains, caves, compasses, skulls, and other archaeological motifs.

Logo & Brand Explorations

Three directions were chosen, each with a different take on ancient civilizations, cultures, exploration, discovery, and knowledge. Various marks and symbols for each idea were kept in mind for possible use on product labels, the website, and graphic elements in the brewery.

The first direction was decidedly Mayan in tone, so it got the kibosh early on in order to go for something more worldly and not location specific. The final cut was narrowed down to these two directions, with the lantern and all seeing eye being the winning choice.

Brand Building

The brewery kicked off with a few initial offerings; hats, coasters, glasses, and more. Can and bottle designs are tentatively planned for the future, but the brewery will initially only have beer on draft.

Cheers!
